Mary Lynn Rajskub Is Comedy Fun

Mary Lynn Rajskub is back on the Super Serious path - heading to the show this month - February 16th.  Check-out the fun things we mentioned last month. The magic of Rajskub:

Hands down, Rajskub is one of our favorite funny people working today. As a stand-up, she truly has a brilliant and unique stage presence. Her performances often are full of off-the-cuff moments and a ton of honest hilarious insights. Both silly and profound, Rajskub’s always fun to watch.

As a comedic actress, Rajskub first gained attention for her roles on such classic comedy shows as Mr. Show with Bob Odenkirk and David Cross and The Larry Sanders Show. You also may recognize her as the actress who played Chloe O’Brian for a whopping 10 seasons on the popular television series, 24.

Additionally, Rajskub has impressively appeared on almost every late night show out there, including Conan, The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson, The Tonight Show, Late Night with Jimmy Fallon and The Late Show with David Letterman.

We couldn’t be more excited for Rajskub to take the stage at our show. Trust us, she’s the best person ever.

Comedy Goodness Courtesy of Greg Behrendt

*Photo by Mike CaranoGet excited because comedian Greg Behrendt will be taking the stage at the November Super Serious Show! Behrendt’s performances are always jam packed with energy and charisma. Along with being one of the best comedians working today, Behrendt brings a fun perspective on romantic and familial relationships to his performances.

After working as a consultant on HBO’s Sex in the City for three consecutive seasons, Behrendt went on to co-author the best selling self-help book He's Just Not That Into You, which later was turned into the feature film of the same name. This success led to his own daily daytime talk show, The Greg Behrendt Show, for Sony Pictures Television as well as countless television appearances. As a stand-up comedian, he has been seen on HBO, The Tonight Show, The Late Show with David Letterman, Late Night with Conan O’Brien and numerous Comedy Central appearances.

Behrendt also hosts Walking The Room, the popular weekly comedy podcast with his comedian buddy, Dave Anthony.

I personally can’t wait to ask him about the guy I’ve been seeing. He’s just been acting so weird lately. WHY WON’T HE CALL ME? WHY GREG? WHY? ...Sorry, Greg.

Grab tickets here to see Behrendt and the rest at the November 17th show.

Comedy Goodness: Michael Palascak

Comedian Michael Palascak is in the lineup for the August 18th Super Serious Show! Please applaud and then sit back down. Thank you. Palascak is one of the funniest young performers working today.

Palascak’s childish and playful tales of living with his parents and working a shitty job is what makes this gentleman funny and relatable to any audience. It’s hard not to love him. Just his gawky stage presence and innocent speaking voice alone will have you giggling. He is like a little big kid turned comedian.

Palascak has made television appearance on The Late Show with David Letterman, Tonight Show with Jay Leno and Comedy Central’s Live at Gotham. Additionally, he performed at the Just For Laugh festival in Chicago, Ceasar’s Palace for the Las Vegas Comedy Festival and was named the winner of HBO’s Lucky 21 Stand-up competition. He can also be seen performing at clubs and colleges all over the country…so don’t you worry. We, personally, can’t wait to ask him if he is still living with his parents.

Grab your tickets early to save some cash - Thursday, August 18th at Smashbox Studios!

The Super Serious Show with Natasha Leggero

We’re excited to announce our Summer show will be headlined by the supremely funny Natasha Leggero. June 16th, Leggero will be bringing her great comedy combo – glamour, spunk and silliness – to Smashbox Studios. Leggero is one of the most popular touring comedians, performing stand-up nationwide.

On top of her touring, Leggero has numerous appearances on television. She's a regular round table guest on Chelsea Lately. Other appearances include numerous stand-up spots on The Tonight Show, The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson and Comedy Central’s Premium Blend. She also served as a judge for season 7 of Last Comic Standing.

Some of Leggero’s most fun performances are her stints playing various crazy deviants on the several year run on Comedy Central’s past hit, Reno 911! Leggero’s other acting roles include appearances on Fox’s ‘Til Death, It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia, Samantha Who, Aqua Teen Hunger Force, The Sarah Silverman Program, Nick Swardson’s Pretend Time and a supporting role in the feature film, He’s Just Not That Into You. She is also a starring voice for Comedy Central’s animated series, Ugly Americans.

Leggero is a unique stand-up in the comedy landscape, joyfully bringing some style to the proceedings. Her stylistic look and diminutive on-stage stature is a fun match to her fun filled comedy, often taking down society’s failings and a fearless willingness to act silly during performances.

Super Serious Show with Jimmy Pardo

Comedian Jimmy Pardo wouldn't ever admit it, but he's one of today's comedy kings. Full of bluster, wit and charm, the ultimate emcee able to play to many an audience, Pardo keeps us all guessing while keeping himself in a shroud of doubt.

This month, he'll be holding court at Smashbox Studios for the next fun-filled Super Serious. We're excited to finally have him run the show.

Photo by Robin Von SwankJimmy Pardo is a rare breed of comedian, with natural knack for finding the funny both on and off stage. He's one of the best off-the-cuff comedians working today, often performing unscripted material for an entire stand-up show.

His comedy is a combo-affair - playful, witty, combatitive, self-depricating and intelligent - all together in one tightly wound Pardo package.

Pardo's comedic skills are always on display during his fun and smart weekly podcast, the super popular Never Not Funny. Pardo was one of the first comedians to take to the podcast medium, changing the way comedians gain traction online, finding new ways to connect with fans. Past Never Not Funny guests include, Conan O'Brien, Adam Carolla, Kevin Pollack, Sarah Silverman, Jon Hamm, Ty Burrell, Rich Sommer and many more.

In addition to the podcast, Pardo also continues to headline nationwide at the top comedy clubs. Pardo currently works as Conan O'Brien's opening act on Conan, continuing his same role from O'Brien's Tonight Show run.

Not surprisingly with his bevy of talent and personable approach, Pardo has numerous television and film appearances, too. Some of his appearances include performing on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, and The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson. He also had his own half-hour special, Comedy Central Presents Jimmy Pardo.

Los Angeles locals can often find Pardo at one of his monthly hosted shows at the famed Upright Citizen's Brigade Theatre.

He also recorded two comedy albums, Uno and Pompous Clown.

Mischievous Music: Garfunkel & Oates

The mischievous musical comedy duo, Garfunkel & Oates are joining The Super Serious Show this month!  The band is made up of actresses and all-around talents, Kate Miccuci and Riki Lindhome. Since 2009, Garfunkel & Oates has been making their mark in the comedy world and pop culture at large. Their songs and performances combine deft humor, intelligence, smiling personas, as well as not-always-safe-for-work lyrics.  Don't let the sometimes off-color talk trick you.  Muccuci and Linkhome are truly some of the nicest people working in comedy today.

Their homespun couch videos and clever songs helped garner early national attention, including their popular song "Pregnant Women Are Smug."  Garfunkel & Oates has many comedy festival appearances and several Television appearances, highlighted by several spots on The Jay Leno Show and The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.

In 2009 they released their first album, Music Songs. The album is a fun collection of their musical comedy.

We've had the pleasure of having Garfunkel & Oates play at some of our non-Super-Serious shows - in their early days. They always bring it. Crowd pleasers all the way. It's a real treat to have them join in the fun at the new Super Serious Show. Grab your tickets here.
